On 10 January 2025, Lotus Bridge International School had the privilege of welcoming Mr Perdeep Kumar, Regional Director of Strategic Partnerships at Harvard Business School Publishing to speak with our senior students on mindfulness and leadership.
Prior to his current role, Mr Perdeep Kumar was the Regional Director of Corporate Learning at Harvard Business School Publishing.
He is a certified Marshall Goldsmith Coach and a certified LifeCoach (ICF ACTP Accreditation).
Perdeep has a keen interest in leadership and mindfulness and spends his available time reflecting on leadership lessons from ancient Asian literature. Annually, Perdeep spends 5 days of pro bono work with social entrepreneurs - coaching them on topics like Leadership, Strategic Thinking, Business Model Canvas, Innovation and Emotional Intelligence.
At Lotus Bridge, Mr Kumar spoke of positivity, and using the LAST matrix framework: Let Go (of old and unhappy experiences), Appreciate (old and happy experiences), Seek (new and happy experiences) and Tolerate (new and unhappy experiences).
He guided the students through techniques to address and cultivate each of the above mindsets and approaches including through using meditation, mindfulness, reframing challenges, practicing gratitude, focussing on an infinite mindset as opposed to a finite mindset, visualisation and better goal-setting techniques. He also spoke on overcoming the self-sabotaging behaviours of distraction, emotional reactivity, arrogance and a fixed mindset. Our students were then provided the opportunity to ask Mr Kumar questions.
His presentation and insights were helpful, inspirational, and practical. Our students (and staff) found Mr Kumar's seminar to be a tremendously useful and positive, aspirational way to start the new school year in 2025.
Lotus Bridge International School then presented Mr Kumar with a token of our appreciation.
Mr Kumar’s presentation also complemented our school’s Science of Happiness curriculum, implemented in partnership with the Rekhi Foundation.
